Some of my favorite authors and books:

Nora Roberts - anything by her but especially Carnal Innocence, Divine Evil, and High Noon. She also writes as J.D. Robb which is the In Death series though there are more than 20 books in that series now and I feel it's best to read them in order.

Linda Howard - anything by her but particular favorites are Dream Man, After the Night, White Lies.
